Six people have been charged weeks after the son of a former bikie boss was allegedly kidnapped and killed in Melbourne.
Patrick Longordo, 30, was allegedly snatched from his South Morang home in the early hours of May 15, before his body was dumped near a playground in Tarneit, almost 60 kilometres away.
The victim is the son of former Mongols president Joseph Longordo.
Detective Inspector Dean Thomas from the Homicide Squad confirmed at the time the attack was targeted.
Police carried out eight search warrants in Wyndham Vale, Point Cook, Mambourin, Werribee and Tarneit shortly after 8am on Wednesday.
Special Operations Group members took a 23-year-old Truganina man into custody as well as four 17-year-old boys and one 18-year-old man.
The 23-year-old man and four 17-year-old boys were charged with murder, kidnapping, aggravated home invasion and criminal damage by fire.
The 23-year-old man has been remanded to appear before the Magistrates’ Court on Thursday morning while the four teens will face Children’s Court.
An 18-year-old man from Point Cook was charged with assist offender and criminal damage by fire and remanded in custody to appear at the Magistrates’ court on Thursday.
Police allege Longordo was dragged out of his home around 3am on May 15. He was asleep when the group allegedly attacked.
The victim was dragged from the family home into a dark-coloured Mazda, which was captured on security footage racing through the streets of Tarneit.
His body was discovered in a public park, metres from a playground, around 4.30am.
The Mazda was abandoned and torched on a secluded road surrounded by paddocks near Ainsbury just before 6am.
