A French national has been charged after allegedly crashing into a historic fountain in Sydney's Hyde Park, with police finding the man still in the car eating McDonald's.
Police had been told the unlicensed 21-year-old was doing food deliveries in a hire car when he crashed into the Archibald Fountain on Wednesday at 3am.
"Half of it (the car) was sticking inside, and half it was sticking out, with the driver still inside," NSW Police Inspector Anderson Lessing said.
"Strangely, he was still eating Macca's there.

"Allegedly, he says he was following his Navman to his destination, and that's where it sent him," Insp Lessing said.
"I'm sure there's some unhappy customers still waiting for their Maccas."
