Fatal Stabbing in Norlane, North Geelong Leaves One Dead

One man is dead and a woman injured following a violent altercation in Norlane, north of Geelong, on Sunday afternoon. Emergency services were called to Alkira Avenue around 12:40 p.m. after reports of a fight involving three men and two women.

Victim Dies at Scene

Paramedics treated a man found with critical stab wounds, but he could not be revived and was declared dead at the scene. Police have not yet formally identified the victim.

A woman in her 20s sustained minor injuries and received medical treatment at the scene.

Investigation Underway

Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the circumstances. Police stated, "At this stage it is believed parties are known to one another." Officers from the Major Crime Scene Unit are also attending the scene. No arrests have been made.

Volunteers from the State Emergency Service (SES) were seen covering and securing evidence with a tarp at the crime scene.

Police urge anyone with information, dashcam footage, or CCTV footage to contact them. The investigation is ongoing.
