Police are actively searching for the driver of a vehicle involved in a single-car accident at Dudley in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Incident Details
Emergency services were called to the intersection of Dudley Beach Road and Burwood Road in Whitebridge at approximately 5:40am following reports of a crash. Upon arrival, officers discovered a single car that had rolled onto its side. However, the driver was not present at the scene.
The road was temporarily closed to allow police to conduct a thorough inspection and initiate a search for the missing individual. It remains unclear whether the driver sustained any injuries as a result of the accident.
Police Investigation
NSW Police have confirmed that there is no indication the vehicle was stolen. According to the Newcastle Herald, investigators plan to contact the family of the person believed to have been driving the car. At around 10am, at least six or seven police vehicles were still present at the location.
The search for the driver continues as authorities work to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash. Anyone with information is urged to contact local police.
