Man dies in two-car crash on SA's Fleurieu Peninsula

A man has lost his life following a two-vehicle collision on Sunday morning in South Australia’s Fleurieu Peninsula.

Emergency services were dispatched to Main South Road, approximately six kilometres south-west of Myponga, shortly before 10:30am after reports of a crash involving a Mitsubishi hatchback and a Toyota 4WD towing a caravan.

According to police, the two vehicles collided on Main South Road, resulting in fatal injuries for the Mitsubishi driver—a 35-year-old man from North Plympton. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Toyota, a 69-year-old man from Western Australia, sustained minor injuries and was transported to hospital for treatment. His passenger, a 67-year-old woman, also remains in hospital but with injuries described as non-life-threatening.

Major Crash investigators are currently at the scene conducting a thorough examination. Main South Road remains closed to traffic, and drivers are advised to avoid the area.

The man’s death marks the 45th life lost on South Australian roads this year, highlighting ongoing concerns about road safety.
