The 83-year-old man and an 81-year-old woman were crossing Shirley Road in Padstow around 6:15pm on Thursday when they were hit by a Honda hatchback. Emergency services were called to the scene, where the man was found trapped under the vehicle.

Fire and Rescue NSW crews worked to free the man before he was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics. The 81-year-old woman also sustained head injuries in the collision. Both pedestrians were rushed to Liverpool Hospital, where the man died on Saturday. The woman remains in hospital in a stable condition.
