Australian singer G Flip has revealed that their career has received an unexpected boost after one of their songs was featured in the hit US series Off Campus. The TV adaptation of Elle Kennedy's bestselling college hockey romance novels features G Flip's track Bed on Fire. The Australian musician said they have been stunned by the huge response to their 2025 song, which appeared on their album Dream Ride.
Global Exposure and Renewed Lift
In a TikTok shared on Tuesday, G Flip explained that the show's global popularity has given their career a renewed lift by exposing their music to new audiences overseas. "My streams are through the roof, my managers phones are ringing, my calendars filling up and my dreams are coming true," G Flip captioned a video of them performing the song.
G Flip already had a solid fan base in Australia before Off Campus exposed the musician to a global audience. "OFF CAMPUS I'm forever grateful," they wrote. With Prime Video recently confirming plans for a second season, the LA-based singer added: "I honestly can't wait to see what artists get this boost next season."
Fan Reactions and Surprise Success
Fans were quick to celebrate the musician's success. "Who has been here since before Off Campus?" one person posted. Speaking to Rolling Stone, G Flip described the attention as "so surprising." "I've never had this much of a boom in my career so far. The graphs are off the charts," G Flip said.
The success of Off Campus has introduced Bed on Fire to a global audience, with new fans sharing clips featuring the song across social media. Although song placements in TV shows or movies typically help launch new artists, G Flip was already a well-known name in Australia. However, the show has helped the musician connect with new listeners overseas.
Connecting with International Audiences
G Flip said they have been surprised by the boost in their career. "I feel like my career — I'm still a fresh artist for a lot of people in America and Canada and Asia and the UK and Europe," they told Rolling Stone. "I guess people in Australia know me from making music in my bedroom and coming up from triple j Unearthed, so they know more of my story. Whereas everyone over here discovering me has just discovered me from Off Campus and now they're finding my discography."
About the Series Off Campus
Off Campus stars Ella Bright and Belmont Cameli. Adapted from Elle Kennedy's bestselling college hockey romance books, the first season of the TV adaptation sees Belmont Cameli as Garrett Graham, Briar University's cocky but charming star hockey player, opposite Ella Bright as Hannah Wells, a smart yet guarded music major. The books are a series of interconnected standalone contemporary romance books that follow the players of the university ice hockey team.
